Jeffrey Vavra Research Manager, Software IDC CEMA
As research manager for IDC CEMA's Software group, Jeffrey Vavra oversees the overall management of the group's research and operations throughout the region, including the development of both standard products and custom work. Additionally, he is responsible for supporting business development for IDC's CEMA Software group.
Previously, Mr. Vavra served as research manager for IDC CEMA's IT services group, where he was responsible for managing the Central and Eastern European Semiannual IT Services Forecaster and designing, coordinating and producing annual IT services research with IDC’s regional offices. He also managed the group's database and was responsible for designing tools for the unit.
Vavra has authored numerous studies on IT services, IT infrastructure management services, and IT business solutions for Slovakia, Greece, the Czech Republic, and Southeastern Europe. He has been involved in various consulting projects across the CEMA region and is regularly a featured presenter on topics ranging from IT security and outsourcing to business intelligence.
Prior to joining IDC, Vavra served as an instructor and content editor for members of the Czech Government, including those at ministerial levels.
Vavra holds a B.A. in history with an emphasis on Central and Eastern Europe from Binghamton University. In addition to his native English, he speaks Czech.
