Threats Grow with the Markets – Prevention Is Now Key
"According to IDC, spending on IT security will expand by more than 23% in most Central European countries in 2007. Moreover, spending on notebooks – the leader technology to mobility – will rise by at least 20%, which is more than four times the rate for desktops, meaning wireless security solutions will soon be de rigueur. In addition, mobile services providers have expanded their wireless offerings at the same time as fixed-line providers are making broadband more affordable and easier to adopt, both for business and home use. The numbers remind us that things are changing fast and that each new step forward in technology adds new threats to existing threats. What most people don't realize is that many of these new technologies can be prepared for in advance through intelligent system design and upgrades that anticipate new vulnerabilities."
Security on Demand
"Responsible executives do not question the need for security – especially in the age of increasing regulatory compliance. The issue facing most businesses regarding security is how to reduce complexity, prevent threats, and prove due diligence – all without breaking the bank or taking manpower hours away from critical initiatives. The new approach of Protection on Demand may be the way forward. Unlike traditional security solutions that focus on one functional area, Protection on Demand covers multiple areas using an as needed, software-as-a-service model that greatly reduces outlays. In some cases, it can reduce expenditure so much, that an extra layer of security can be added back in, making it something all cost-conscious managers should explore."
