C4 is Making a Blast in
the Australian Networking Equipment Market, Says IDC
Sydney, Australia, August 20, 2008 - The networking equipment landscape is full of innovative and exciting product development that is seeing a technology revolution taking place across both the consumer and business markets, a new IDC report has found. The new report, titled Australian Networking Equipment 2008-2012 Forecast and Analysis: Convergence, Consolidation, Centralisation, and Consumerisation, found this revolution is driven by the emergence of newer and smarter technologies, greater network capacities, and refreshed network architectures. IDC’s research also showed that the Australian networking equipment market saw a healthy growth of 19% in 2007. "The overall market can be described in many words, but convergence, consolidation, centralisation, and consumerisation (C4) are the most appropriate. C4 is a movement within the industry, which has several overlapping layers and is driven by multiple technologies; but most importantly, it seeks to provide a better return on investment (ROI), lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and simpler ease of use across the entire ICT infrastructure," said Jamie Jin, Market Analyst, Network Technologies, IDC Australia.
